Star Power(less)

Alison Blaire had been hired to sing a few songs for an action movie. A remake of Cagney And Lacey. A sexier, more violent, version. There was also a music video and Ali was sent to the studio sets to film a few scenes. Even do a bit with the two stars. Everything was going smoothly when the creep showed up. A gofer or something.

He was such a distracting pest that Milla, understandably, lost her temper. As did Jessica. And he was such a jerk that even Ali found herself blowing her top. He, of course, got fired. After the three calmed down they completed their scene and parted company. Except for the creep, working with the two actresses was a nice experience.

It was the night of the Premiere. Ali felt like an idiot wearing her face paint mask with her swanky dress. But Harry insisted and Harry was the one who signed the checks. Soooo...

After Ali entered the theater someone approached her. He looked vaguely familiar but she couldn't place him. Maybe he didn't have the beard last time. He told her she was needed for a photo shoot with some of the stars and movie execs. The bearded fellow led Alison to a room and let her enter first. The room was empty. Suddenly a chloroformed rag was clamped over her nose and mouth. This clown was strong as an ox. Tried as she did she couldn't break free. So that left a dazzleburst. But the instant she started to glow the assailant threatened to twist her neck and kill her right there on the spot. She believed him and powered down. The fumes took effect and her eyes rolled upward as her body slumped down. The lights had gone out for Dazzler.

Ali awoke, shocked, to find herself stripped down to her underwear and cuffed hand and foot to a pole. Almost HIP deep in water. She was inside some kind of circular room. Water gushing out of various ducts on the walls. What the hell kinda room is this, she wondered.

Then she noticed she wasn't alone. To her right was Jessica tied the same way. To her left was Milla tied a little differently. Before Ali could consider if that had any particular significance their kidnapper appeared on the catwalk above them.

It was the bearded guy WITHOUT the beard. Now she remembered him. He was that creep who got fired.

They also noticed the video camera on a tripod that was already recording them. A snuff film. Ali just KNEW the little prick was making a snuff film.

Pointing a gun directly at Dazzler, threatening to shoot her in the head the INSTANT the "mutie" even tried to glow, he came down.

"You gotta be a genefreak. When I stripped you I couldn't find ANYthing that could explain that light of yours."

He waded over to them. Milla growled at him through her gag. Obviously she and this creep had issues.

He grabbed her chin.

"You think you're so special. You think you can walk all over people and treat them like dirt." He ranted. "Well YOU'RE the dirt and I'm gonna wash you ALL away!"

He then went over to Dazzler, pulled out a hypo, and jabbed her with it. Ali couldn't help but make a muffled yelp in pain.

"Gettin' rid of a freakshow is gonna be a real perk. Score one for REAL humanity. That drug will make you so loopy you won't be able to focus enough to form a laser." He then smirked. "Yeah. I read about you. I know you can make 'em. But not this time. Gonna be lights out for Dazzler. Permanently!"

He then went over to harass Jessica.

Afterwards he headed for the catwalk. He was no longer pointing the gun at Ali. Obviously he figured she was no longer a threat.

His mistake, Ali thought.

If she could just...just form a...Before the drug took effect form a...It was getting harder to think.
